Ratatouille

DSCN7613I love when you have no idea what you’re going to make, thus aimlessly are flipping through page after page of cook books trying to find something that sparks your fancy when a brilliant, though random, idea hits. Don’t ask me why I thought of this, the last seen of Ratatouille popped into my head and that dish looked like it could be amazing (I also hate how cartoon food always looks better in person). And that is how I arrived at the conclusion that dish needed to be made, and it was insanely easy at that!

Oxblood All Over

oxbloodDefinitely one of my favorite colors at the moment. Oxblood, or oxygenated blood, is a beautiful blend of red and brown and looks good on everyone. Try it on your nails if you aren’t too sure about this color, or a dress if you are as obsessed with this color as I am. If I had it my way, everything I own would be this color. Have you picked up your piece yet?

Get the Look: Dolce Vita

Dolce VitaWhen I was younger, I wanted to be all blonde hair and blue eyes with no curves and straight hair. I tried to stay out of the sun and begged my mom for contacts. Citrus Squeeze

DSCN7315 [Caslon sweater, custom dress, Enzo Angiolini pumps, Mossimo clutch, J.Crew headband]

Lately I have really been on a citrus inspired colors and this outfit is a perfect example. I have been sporting combos of lemon yellow, orange and lime inspired greens. These colors can’t help but inspire a cheery disposition and with this weather being hot one day, cold the next, I will take all the cheer I can get!

Survive Wedding Season

Wedding season

  1. Lean towards neutral or pastel colors. Nothing that screams look-at-me
  2. Summer dresses or shorts suits are great picks for warmer weather
  3. Opt for wedges instead of stilettos for a more grass-friendly alternative
  4. Although it might be warm during the day, places cool down quick. Consider a shawl or pashmina
  5. Another great shoes option? Cowboy boots! (I am partial to pairing them with dresses)
  6. Pick hairstyles that can be easily pinned up during the heat and let down when it cools off
  7. Lip stain is great, it requires next to no maintenance and you don’t have to be mindful when eating.
  8. Ditch the monster totes and try a fun straw clutch
  9. Keep from having a beauty meltdown with make up sealer
  10. If the wedding is outside in the heat, stick to lighter versions of fragrance. Heat intensifies fragrance

Jem Is My Name

DSCN7355 [Classiques Entier Sweater, Vintage Jem shirt, Kate Spade jeans, Steve Madden Moccasins, Kate Spade bag, UO beanie, Modcloth cuff]

When I was younger, I was obsessed with Jem. I idolized everything about her. I even wanted pink hair (which I eventually got when I was older). I’ve had this t-shirt for years and can’t bear to part with it. Instead I find new and exciting ways to work it into my wardrobe. Though sometimes, jeans and mocs are the perfect pairings.
